As we step into autumn, we will experience both Venus and Mercury retrogrades one after another along the Libra–Scorpio axis. Of course, with the retrogrades of two personal planets in the same signs also combining with new moons and full moons, there will be quite a strong emphasis on the Libra–Aries and Scorpio–Taurus axes. Relationships, partnerships, money, trust, what we own, what we share and our sense of value will be among the most important themes of the coming period. And of course, both individually and collectively, everyone will get their share of these influences.☺️
Retro periods, when a planet appears to move backwards because it slows down from our perspective on Earth, indicate that the matters represented by that planet and the sign it is in come before us to be reassessed, reviewed and, when necessary, restructured. A decision we made in the past, a relationship we realise was never fully closed, an unfinished agreement, or something that no longer holds the same value for us may come up again.
And this is exactly where Venus puts love, relationships, money, our values, self-worth, pleasures and choices right at the centre of the story. Moreover, the fact that it will begin its retrograde motion in Scorpio and then return to Libra shows that we will experience this process in two different stages!
Venus in Libra is strong because it is in the sign it rules. It wants to create balance, compromise, establish reciprocity, be fair and consider the needs of both sides in relationships. In Scorpio, however, it is in detriment. This is where things go a little deeper. Insecurity, jealousy, control, commitment, intimacy, power dynamics, shared money and ‘yours–mine–ours’ issues become much more visible.
Therefore, as the retrograde first begins in Scorpio, matters that have remained beneath the surface in relationships may emerge. We may question how much a relationship is based on trust, who gives more, who controls more, or what is actually keeping us in that relationship. Old relationships, unfinished emotions and stories we thought had ended in the past may come back into our lives. But of course, this does not mean that every person who returns should come back into our lives again.☺️ Sometimes a person returns not to re-enter our lives, but so that we can finally see that story from a different perspective.
Then, when Venus returns to Libra again, the questioning will change slightly. Are we really equal in this relationship? Is there a balance between what I give and what I receive? What am I no longer willing to accept? What comes to the forefront here is not only romantic relationships; marriages, business partnerships, agreements and all one-to-one relationships in our lives may also be reassessed.
When it comes to money, however, I find this retrograde particularly striking. Because Scorpio is connected with banks, loans, debts, taxes, shared resources, investment funds and the unseen side of the financial system. Venus beginning its retrograde here may cause some previously hidden problems in global financial markets to resurface, create pressure around debt and liquidity, and lead to the real value of certain assets being questioned again.
Especially from late October until mid-November, with Mercury retrograde accompanying Venus as well, we may see sudden changes of direction in the markets, repricing or changing expectations. It would not be surprising for previous decisions regarding the banking system, credit and borrowing conditions, interest rates, company valuations and major financial agreements to come back to the table. In short, if there is already a weak point within the financial system, the retrograde may make it visible. Scorpio likes to reveal what is hidden.
Venus later returning to Libra may indicate a period in which disrupted balances are being restored, agreements are renegotiated and the question ‘what is its real value?’ is discussed more frequently in the markets. In short, this retrograde may be an important period of reassessment not only in our love lives or one-to-one relationships, but also globally in terms of where money flows, what value is assigned to things, and what people do or do not trust.
Aries: During the Scorpio period, shared finances, loans, debts, taxes and your partner’s financial situation may come to the forefront. You may question how much you trust someone, both financially and emotionally. When Venus returns to Libra, relationships and partnerships move to the centre of the agenda! An unresolved relationship or partnership issue from the past may come before you again.
Taurus: The Scorpio period directly affects your relationships, marriage or one-to-one partnerships. Issues of power dynamics, jealousy, trust or commitment with your partner and business partners may become more visible. With the move into Libra, you may reassess what genuinely feels good for you in your work routine, daily life and relationships within your working life.
Gemini: In Scorpio, your work environment, working conditions and daily routine will be under the spotlight. Your relationships with colleagues or a work routine that has been bothering you for a long time may come up again. When Venus returns to Libra, love, flirtation, children and creativity become more active. A love from the past may also reappear. Be careful! ☺️
Cancer: The Scorpio period brings your love life, children and the way you express yourself to the forefront. An unfinished emotional story from the past or an old issue involving children may come up again. With the return to Libra, you may reconsider some past decisions concerning your home, family and living space.
Leo: During the Scorpio period, your family relationships, home or certain family matters from the past may become more visible. An issue concerning your home arrangements, moving house or female figures within the family may be reconsidered. When Venus moves into Libra, old connections or conversations involving siblings, your immediate environment, communication and education may return to the agenda.
Virgo: In Scorpio, your way of communicating, your immediate environment and certain conversations are being reassessed. Something said in the past, an unfinished conversation or an old agreement may come before you again. When Venus returns to Libra, money, income and self-worth will come to the forefront. You may question what you spend your money on and whether you are truly receiving the value of your efforts.
Libra: As the retrograde begins in Scorpio, you may need to reorganise certain matters involving your income, spending and financial security. An investment or financial decision you made in the past may come up again. When Venus returns to your own sign, you move right into the centre of the focus! From your appearance to your relationships, from your desires to your priorities in life, you may ask yourself ‘What do I actually want?’ more often.
Scorpio: Because Venus begins its retrograde in your sign, you may feel its effects strongly. Your relationships, appearance, perception of your attractiveness and certain choices about yourself may be reassessed. When Venus returns to Libra, a more inward-looking period begins! You may confront past relationships, emotions you carry in your subconscious and unfinished stories.
Sagittarius: During the Scorpio period, past relationships, hidden emotions or certain matters you have been keeping inside for a long time may emerge. You may need to withdraw a little and understand what you are feeling. When Venus moves into Libra, your circle of friends, social life and future plans become more active, and a friend from the past or an old social circle may come back into your life.
Capricorn: In Scorpio, your friendships, social circle and goals for the future may be reshaped. You may realise that you are no longer moving in the same direction as certain people. Venus returning to Libra brings career, status and professional relationships onto your agenda; an old job opportunity, client or career matter that had previously been discussed may come before you again.
Aquarius: During the Scorpio period, some questioning may begin regarding your career, professional relationships and position in society. Workplace relationships or financial expectations may become a matter for renegotiation. When Venus returns to Libra, a plan involving overseas matters, education, legal issues or travel that was left unfinished in the past may come up again.
Pisces: During the Scorpio period, an old issue involving overseas matters, education, legal matters or your outlook on life may come before you again. You may reconsider an education, travel or overseas plan you had previously thought about. When Venus moves into Libra, shared finances, debts, loans and trust within relationships will become more important.
